Welcome from the Headmistress
I am delighted to introduce St Margaret’s to you. Visitors are always impressed by our warm sense of community, the sense of purposefulness and enjoyment. We work hard and we have fun in doing so.
Our academic standards are high, with exceptional ‘value-added’ and – importantly - there are other values just as dear. As a Christian school, looking after others is an important part of our life together. We are concerned to encourage individuals to achieve their very best so that they, in their turn, may make a difference to the world.
The friendliness, felt from the moment you walk through the door, is shown by the older pupils to the younger – and vice versa! It enables all pupils to aspire and to reach their aspirations. In the India trip video, “Ain’t no mountain high enough” sums up St Margaret’s and the humorous camaraderie and determination are typical of students’ life here.
We are extremely proud of our wide range of extra-curricular activities. Our music, art, drama are second to none and the programme of outdoor activities is exceptional, with our Duke of Edinburgh programme, sport, Ten Tors and CCF. These opportunities allow everyone to develop their talents, discover their strengths and grow in confidence.
I hope you enjoy learning about the school. Our Nursery and Pre-Prep (Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2) have been an immense success, and our Prep (Years 3-6) is now gradually becoming co-educational. Do come and visit us and experience life here for yourself. You will be very welcome.
