About the Headmaster

Lee Bergin is married, with three children. He values his family life and it energises and inspires his outlook, to value each individual. It also explains why he cherishes the type of education provided by St Margaret's.

Having completed his Geography with Economics degree at Hull University, and PGCE at Newcastle University, Lee started his career in the maintained sector in Blackburn, Lancashire. Moving to an independent grammar school in Manchester, Lee introduced Business Studies to the curriculum, becoming head of department. Enjoying success in schemes such as Young Enterprise and the Ogden Trust business competition, the department flourished.

Completion of his National Professional Qualification of Headship at Manchester University saw Lee venture south when he became Deputy Head of St Margaret's in 2007. Stepping up to be Headmaster in Summer 2012, Lee will lead the school forward to provide, as it does, a caring education that ensures all pupils realise their potential in whatever sphere their abilities and aspirations take them.
