Design and Technology stimulates interest and motivation in designing and making and offers the opportunity for children to achieve in a practical subject
In History we aim to give children a sense of their own identity within our social, political, cultural and economic background and to ensure the development of historical concepts, knowledge skills and attitudes.
ICT is an invaluable tool in the modern learning process and we have imbedded this firmly into the Junior curriculum thus teaching pupils to use technology with confidence and ease.
A huge amount of enjoyment is achieved through singing and all pupils in the Prep Department are members of the Junior Choir. They sing at church services, concerts and in the Summer Production.
‘Sport for All’ is the motto for Physical Education in the Pre-prep and Prep departments at St Margaret’s. Pupils flourish in a relaxed, positive learning environment where individual needs are focused upon to support and maximise potential in different sports.
Science teaching follows the National Curriculum guidelines. Pupils are encouraged to investigate, explore, prepare presentations and carry out research during lessons and at home. Wherever possible, lessons are linked to other areas of the curriculum and the pupils take part in many fun activities during Science Week in the Spring Term.
