A Day in the Life of a Roman
In the morning a Briton and a Roman came. They put out some Roman and British artefacts. They were very interesting.
Then we asked some questions and invited them to lunch. After this we tried on Roman armour. We practised marching and went into a ‘tortoise’ with our shields. Some parents, who were Britons, threw some balls at us but they bounced off our shields. Some of Junior House joined in. Then it was the end of the day.

Today it was a fabulous day! There were two men coming to school. One was a Roman and the other was a Briton. They were telling us what happened in the times of the Romans and Britons. They showed us many objects and told us about a bronze mirror and their clothes. We also saw the food they had to eat like strange little peacock brains.
After lunch we learnt about the Roman army. Lili and Bailey dressed up as Britons and Daisy wore the Roman armour. We practised a Roman battle. The soldier had to talk in Latin and shouted instructions for marching. Mums and the whole Junior school came into the PAC and had to play the part of Britons.
They threw balls at us and we threw sponges. It was a wonderful day!
P.S. The men had real swords.
