Science Club this year started with a bang. Years 6 and 7 pupils were given the opportunity to explore the ability of both custard powder and hot chocolate to produce very large flames when passed through a Bunsen Burner.

One of the most enjoyable sporting events of the year was Sports Day. It was a memorable morning (not only due to the brilliant weather!) with so many closely contested races and a display of great sportsmanship

Shrove Tuesday celebrations began with a whole school assembly, in which Years 3 & 4 acted out a story called “The Square Pancake”, accompanied by music especially composed by the Year 10 GCSE Music Group and narrated by Mrs Lowles.

The Pre-Prep and Prep School concert was held on Wednesday in the Main Hall. Once again there were participants from Reception to Year 6 and they performed to a very appreciative, capacity audience.

Today it was a fabulous day! There were two men coming to school. One was a Roman and the other was a Briton. They were telling us what happened in the times of the Romans and Britons.

World Book Day gave both the Pre-Prep and Prep school (and a number of over excited Lower Sixth girls!) the opportunity to dress up as their favourite characters from books.

What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday! Last weekend, our choirs and many visitors benefitted from the opportunity of inspirational vocal tuition, in a lovely warm and positive atmosphere from the young, energetic and motivating choral trainer and conductor, James Davey. It is impossible to recapture the buzz and humour that emanated from each of the three Master Classes

Years 3 and 4 came to school as Ancient Egyptians on Thursday. Why? Well, they have been learning about the Ancient Egyptians in History and as part of their studies, they were visited by Dawn and Ben, from the Royal Albert Museum in Exeter.

A space science adventure kept Year 5 and Year 6 students enthralled on Friday 2nd October 2009. Clive Purchase, a visiting astronomer from the Callington Space Centre, encouraged the students to participate in this exciting learning adventure. Students from schools in the local area also came along for the workshop.

The message of Christmas was the theme for St Margaret's annual Nativity. Boys and Girls from Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep took part in this magical journey back through time to Christ's birth in Bethlehem through the medium of music and drama.
