An exchange visit is a challenge. It is never going to be easy coping with spending a week with a family you have never met before, let alone relying on the language you have learned in class to make contact.

You need to bring a good dose of determination, and a real wish to make it work. The group of girls from St. Margaret’s who we have taken on the exchanges have been outstanding in the way they throw themselves into the experience, and have gained so much as a result, transforming their ability to use other languages, making new friends, and having a new understanding of the culture. It has always been a pleasure to spend a week in their company, and to share their fresh enthusiasm for beautiful landscape and the sunshine.
