Monday 10th March Tutor Group and staff quizzes Each tutor group was given a quiz to complete throughout the week, including the 6th form who had to decipher a recipe written in chemistry ‘speak’ (it was chocolate chip cookies by the way!). Staff were not spared and congratulations go to Miss Kemp-Gee and Miss Woodward who won the staff chocolate quiz. Biology Bites! Have you ever wondered why popcorn pops and why we can’t taste things when we have a cold? As well as munching their way through various delicacies the girls learnt the biology behind food: how popcorn pops; where chocolate comes from and how it is made; what happens to marshmallows when microwaved and how to make an apple pie without any apples! They also experimented with how we taste…including tricking the taste buds with jelly beans and onions!
