Auschwitz Visit Danni and Alice were given the chance to participate on a one day visit to Auschwitz in Poland with the Holocaust Educational Trust with around 200 other sixth formers from schools around the southwest. The visit was an incredibly moving experience for both of us; Auschwitz is one of the places where you can feel a profound sense of unity with the people who are sharing the experience with you but also a feeling of dislocation from humanity in trying to come to terms with the atrocities people commit. The visit along with the follow up seminars really encouraged us to think about the holocaust and to consider its lasting impact on our world. Alice Pooley |
