A Dream Play

Rehearsals for ‘A Dream Play’ by August Strindburg started in October 2007.  They were very much an experimental process!

The cast, consisting of Years 10 to 13, found that the play developed along with their characters and their stories.  It became a moving piece of artwork including dance music (with some fine choreography from Mrs Prowse) and improvisation.

An angel fallen from heaven comes to Earth to see what being human is like.  She soon realises that living is a difficult task and helps people along her journey of trying to live as a human herself.

The production was full of special effects to create the atmosphere of a dream and left the audience with some thought provoking questions about what is important in our own lives.

A Dream Play was performed on February 27-28 2008 in the Hall, directed by Heidi Brozek; the Musical Director was Brendan Ashe.
