Our Teachers
Our enthusiastic team of staff are dedicated to creating happy confident children. We aim to build strong relationships with our families so that each child can grow and develop, having the confidence to ask and answer questions in our safe nurturing environment. Each of our classes has a teaching assistant who works alongside the teacher, delivering the curriculum and supporting the pupil’s development. They are all highly qualified, as either high level teaching assistants or with the equivalent of HVQ level 3 in childcare and the majority are trained First Aiders. Many of the assistants also work in the After School Club and during the holidays, running the Holiday Club. This provides continuity for the children’s development and creates even stronger relationships.
Mrs Suzy Allen
Head of Pre-Prep
Mrs Allen is the Head of our Pre-Prep and Nursery department. She trained at Westminster College, where she gained a Bachelor of Education Honour degree with a specialism in maths and music. She taught for 8 years in primary schools in Exeter and Southampton before taking time out to look after her three children. On returning to teaching she was deputy head of a nursery school for 3 years before moving back into primary education. She joined St Margaret’s as a Year 4 teacher before setting up our Pre-Prep and Nursery department 2 years ago. She currently teaches the Year 2 class.
Mrs Angela Evemy
Year 1 Teacher
I have taught across the primary age range for over 20 years, working in Reading, Winchester and now Exeter. I have also taught in a prison, which was an interesting and fascinating challenge.
I am currently based in the Prep department, where I teach English to Year 4 and Maths to Year 3, as well as History and English to both year groups. I also teach in the Pre Prep with Mrs Allen.
I love teaching English because words fascinate me. They are captivating, intriguing, inspiring….there are so many to choose from! Maths was always my worst subject at school and so I know how some pupils feel when they can’t work out a problem. I think this has made me a better maths teacher, than if I had been a confident number cruncher!
Mrs Michelle Jones
Reception Class Teacher

Before joining St. Margaret’s School staff, she worked for fourteen years in Flight Crew Training at British Airways, where she taught flight crew and cabin crew their Initial Training and Aircraft Type Conversion Courses. After staying at home to raise her young daughter for two years, she completed her teacher training. She joined St. Margaret’s in January 2010.
Mrs Rebecca Sharpe
