Rotary Young Musician
St Margaret’s were delighted to host the first two rounds of this year’s ‘Rotary Young Musician of the Year’ competition. We had two girls performing in the Brass Sections – Rachel Frost on the French horn in the Junior Section and Estelle Caine on the trumpet in the Senior Section. The girls were competing against players more advanced than themselves but they both played creditably and the Adjudicator was very complimentary about them. They were certainly a credit to St.Margaret’s. Estelle won her heat and will go on to play in the final at St.Margaret’s Church, Topsham on March 3rd.
Well done Estelle!
In the Woodwind and Piano Classes. We were very proud to have two representatives in each of these sections – Lucy Norman-Walker and Olivia Howes performing on the flute, and Charlotte Mackenzie and Charlotte Smith on the piano. All girls introduced their pieces lucidly and confidently and gave convincing and expressive performances. Once again, our performers epitomised the spirit of St Margaret’s and the adjudicator was very complimentary about them all. ‘The Charlottes’ will be joining Estelle Caine in the final on March 3rd. Well done to all our musicians!
