About Woodard Schools
We are part of the Woodard Corporation (www.woodard.co.uk). This is the largest group of Anglican schools in England and Wales. It educates some 27,000 pupils a year across both the state and independent sectors. It was established by Nathaniel Woodard in 1848.
All Woodard Schools have an outstanding reputation for providing academic excellence coupled with unrivalled pastoral care. Each school caters for the individual. Students are valued as themselves and encouraged to give their very best.
The schools have been built on a Christian ethos and there is a deep-rooted Christian faith in St. Margaret’s. All faiths are welcome and, like other Woodard Schools, we openly encourage understanding, diversity and tolerance for everybody.
Belonging to the Woodard family provides the opportunity to share best practice and expertise amongst the schools. It also allows many inter-school opportunities. Memorably, in November, there was a spectacular performance (in Birmingham’s Symphony Hall), when St Margaret’s musicians joined 600 other performers from 26 different schools to perform Berlioz’ Te Deum.
